The Day Has Finally Arrived!

Jack just left for his first day of Kindergarten. He was pretty calm. I think he was a little worried inside, but he didn't let on. As I type, Bryn is pointing at the computer sayingj "Jack, Jack, Jack." I think the quiet is going to take some getting used to for her. Last night he finished his homework for the first day. I meant to turn this before I posted it, but forgot. Basically, it says, he likes to play legos and magnets, is not afraid of anything, riding a two wheeler worries him, and he is going to be an engineer when he grows up (and a soccer coach, but that took too long to write so he skipped that part)
Jack and Dad reviewing his answers that he had worked on so hard.

Deep thoughts....I believe this was...are you sure you aren't afraid of anything?Breakfast of champions...Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch.

Even had a little time for some cartoons before leaving for the bus.

The last smile as he got on the bus. He got to sit by his bud Zayne from a couple streets down, so I think it was a good ride.

After Jack was on the bus, Bryn and I drove to school for the "boo hoo" party they throw at school for the Kindergarten parents. We waited and waited for Jack to come in to the school. Kate came, but no Jack (This, after she insisted she would need to help Jack to his teacher before she went up to her own classroom). He was one of the last to enter, but he made it. He gave me a wave, and he was off...hope his day is great! I can't wait to hear all about it:)

First Day of 3rd Grade...and a few more

Well, Kate made if off to 3rd grade without any problems. I had to work last night, so I picked her up this morning just in time to get her to the first bus ride of the year. I hope she is always this excited about the first day of school!

We spent so much time in the water this summer we haven't been our bikes much. The kids got them out of storage and dusted them off this weekend.

Jack is working on getting rid of those training wheels! He did pretty well, but took a spill at the end. I know I shouldn't laugh when he falls, but to watch Mike fly over the bike and roll in to the grass was quite a site. Jack did not care for my reaction. He came away with a few scrapes, but overall, not too bad.

Papa Bob and Grandma Mikie were in town for Labor Day weekend. The kids had a great time swimming at their hotel and loving up Papa and Grandma:) Hope they come and visit again soon!

Last Days on the Lake

The last days of summer have come and gone. I am still in denial that it is the first day of school today. We cleaned out the cabin last weekend, but not before having a little more fun. Bryn is loving the jet ski! She now sees her life jacket or the jet ski and immediately cries "ski, ski!" She took a ride with Grandma and Grandpa, waving as they passed by the dock:) Here are the three of them before take off...

We have also enjoyed a couple of nights out on Lake Minnetonka, close to home. Bryn is taking a turn at driving neighbor Jim's boat. Kate took a turn as well...and we drove in a circle. It will be a while before she is getting her license!

Here are the 3 of them checking out the view as we drove back in to the dock after some jumping off in the middle of the lake. Even Bryn liked to jump in. She would jump in, say "done", then "towel." She knows the routine!
