Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween everyone! Here are the trick-or-treaters...Pocahontas, A Butterfly, and A Ghost Pirate. Jack decided to jazz up his ghost costume at the last minute with a few accessories.

My favorite Halloween shot each year. The trick-or-treaters as they start the journey. It was a nice night, a little chilly by dark, but at least no one needed winter coats!

Let's Catch Up!

Blogging has taken a back seat since the school routine has ramped up. It might take a few days to get through the many, many posts that follow. Hopefully the next delay will be a bit shorter! Jack and Bryn are best buds these days. Bryn asks for Jack all morning until he comes home on the bus. Here ,they are enjoying some banana muffins together for an afternoon snack. Impromptu "cheese" at home. Bryn was the one requesting the camera for this one!

Bryn loves her baby. Her favorite thing is to change her diaper and wipe her tush. I seem to be going through an awful lot of wipes these days.

Bryn also likes to bake when everyone is at school. She helped make apple chips one day...

or, maybe she preferred taste testing the apples...guilty!

Halloween is almost here!

MEA has arrived so we decided to head to the pumpkin patch today to get our carving pumpkins. Here we are with our crop... Jack inspected a lot of pumpkins before he found the perfect one!

Is that Bryn?!? Yep, she took off in the fields to find her OWN pumpkin!

Happy hunters after the pumpkins were picked.

A Beautiful Fall Day

It was the first week of October...and we were wearing shorts! We spent a short afternoon doing some exploring around Lake Minnetonka Regional Park. We were actually scoping out spots for our photo shoot the following weekend, but we had a great time hiking the trails.

Inside the trees, climbing on logs was the favorite spot.

Quick stop for a few smiles:)

After we were finished checking out the trails, we dipped our toes in the water. We just couldn't resist the water with the beautiful sunshine! Bryn liked the sand between her toes!

The real pictures turned out pretty cute. Bryn was a bit tired that day, but we got a few smiles out of her before she totally gave up. Nothing like the big "cheeses" she gave us this day. This is the link to see the family photos...

Apple Orchard Fun

No fall is complete without a trip to the apple orchard. We tried out a new one this year, and had a great time. Jack had been there for a field trip earlier in the week so he gave us the tour.

Climbing fun on the haystacks...

Krista came to join us for some fun. Here she is taking a tractor/trailer ride out to the apple picking trees. Kate had to hold on to her tight so they didn't fly off the corner!

Mike made sure Bryn stayed put on the ride.

Kate...finding just the right apple.

Jack, picking a LOT of apples.

Bryn's first apple picking.

Bryn was also in charge of the "bag" of apples.

My favorite...the butt shot:)

Soccer Season...here and gone

The fall soccer season was kind to us this year, sunny and gorgeous almost every day! Here is Bryn in her spectator spot...snacks in hand. She got a little more impatient as the season went on and wasn't quite as willing to sit so nice. Action shot of Jack (he's in the red). It was amazing how much he improved as the season went on. He even scored a couple of goals in the last few games! This is what he looked like a lot in the early part of the season.

Kate also had a great season. One game with a couple of bloody noses (yes, in the same game), but she recovered and only flinched a little for the rest of the season! Here she is, ready for anything.

Action shot during practice...

Incredible Festival

The first weekend after school is always the Incredible Festival...a carnival in the church parking lot. Kate and Jack love to ride and ride and ride. That leaves Bryn with some extra time to people watch...one of her favorite pass times. Man, it was bright out that day!
Kate and jack after a turn on the "Dizzy Dragons."

It took some convincing, but Jack finally talked Kate in the ferris wheel. She's not such a fan of heights.

I had to take the first "high" ride with Kate to remind her that she really can do it on her own and that she really likes it. She's looking a little nervous here, but it got better:)

No carnival is complete without the motorcycles...Kate and Jack had unlimited ride wrist bands so they went on each ride at least twice, then hit their favorites again!

The Day Has Finally Arrived!

Jack just left for his first day of Kindergarten. He was pretty calm. I think he was a little worried inside, but he didn't let on. As I type, Bryn is pointing at the computer sayingj "Jack, Jack, Jack." I think the quiet is going to take some getting used to for her. Last night he finished his homework for the first day. I meant to turn this before I posted it, but forgot. Basically, it says, he likes to play legos and magnets, is not afraid of anything, riding a two wheeler worries him, and he is going to be an engineer when he grows up (and a soccer coach, but that took too long to write so he skipped that part)
Jack and Dad reviewing his answers that he had worked on so hard.

Deep thoughts....I believe this was...are you sure you aren't afraid of anything?Breakfast of champions...Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch.

Even had a little time for some cartoons before leaving for the bus.

The last smile as he got on the bus. He got to sit by his bud Zayne from a couple streets down, so I think it was a good ride.

After Jack was on the bus, Bryn and I drove to school for the "boo hoo" party they throw at school for the Kindergarten parents. We waited and waited for Jack to come in to the school. Kate came, but no Jack (This, after she insisted she would need to help Jack to his teacher before she went up to her own classroom). He was one of the last to enter, but he made it. He gave me a wave, and he was off...hope his day is great! I can't wait to hear all about it:)

First Day of 3rd Grade...and a few more

Well, Kate made if off to 3rd grade without any problems. I had to work last night, so I picked her up this morning just in time to get her to the first bus ride of the year. I hope she is always this excited about the first day of school!

We spent so much time in the water this summer we haven't been our bikes much. The kids got them out of storage and dusted them off this weekend.

Jack is working on getting rid of those training wheels! He did pretty well, but took a spill at the end. I know I shouldn't laugh when he falls, but to watch Mike fly over the bike and roll in to the grass was quite a site. Jack did not care for my reaction. He came away with a few scrapes, but overall, not too bad.

Papa Bob and Grandma Mikie were in town for Labor Day weekend. The kids had a great time swimming at their hotel and loving up Papa and Grandma:) Hope they come and visit again soon!
